The Reason Subi Exists
Michelle Schubert spent 10 years working in poverty alleviation around the world, this is where she began creating technology; using Ai and Blockchain to solve niche problems in developing areas. Simultaneously, being a real estate investor in the United States, she saw an industry that was riddled with clunky software and disconnected systems.
Michelle later partnered with Kristen Thompson, a Washington real estate agent with over 10 years in the industry and 4 years as a nation-wide transaction coordinator. Kristen knew the real day-to-day of contracts, compliance, timelines, and everything that can go wrong inside a transaction.
The two met while Michelle was pitching investors and quickly realized they shared the same vision: real estate needed smarter systems that actually helped move deals forward and alleviate burden from real estate agent’s lives.
They later brought on Rae Helsel, an engineering lead with a background at Stripe, to build the technology behind the platform.
Subi was created to simplify the transaction process, reduce busywork, and give agents, coordinators, and brokerages more time to focus on the people side of real estate — not the paperwork.
